7 semne primordiale – COLOANA (4)

Aceeasi compozitie: 1/2 romb + romb + 1/2 romb = trecut – prezent – viitor. In mijlocul fragmentelor de coloana sta iar rombul, simbolul fertilitatii. Fertilitatea solului asigura hrana si femeile asigura continuitatea: generatie dupa generatie.

Let's pretend our http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantin_Brâncuși never existed.
a) compare the feminine figures from Cucuteni-Tripolye ancient culture with those still used on textiles, 5000 years after; in our days. We see endless columns of women, generations coming one after another: grandma, mother, daughter and so on. Their proud and bold attitude (hands on hips) reflects their responsability: continuity (keeping the family, the nation/tribe, the tradition).
b) compare the motif on a carpet i've seen in Morroco, in 2008, with images found to be used around here: the same composition: 1/2 diamond + 1 diamond + 1/2 diamond = past – present – future. In the middle of everything is the diamond, symbol used for fertility. Fertility of the soil (food) and female fertility are vital for continuation: generation after generation.
So far I thought that people were inspired by lightning when they created 'the column', as communication between them and gods. One way, up, go their prayers; on the way down comes the answer. Now I see it as: awareness, concern and prayer for human existance.

Un comentariu:
